Fundraising

Every year, your funds go directly towards supporting instruction and enriching classroom experiences.  We rely solely on contributions from district parents and community members to support these initiatives.  Our primary sources of revenue are the annual Book Fair, the biennial Winter Benefit, PTO Dues and School Kits.  These 4 fundraising efforts account for almost 90% of our annual budget.

Winter Benefit

Every other year, the PTO holds a fundraiser to bring parents, teachers, and administrators together for a night of fun! This evening is the cornerstone of our fundraising effort, and provides funding for 2 years of the PTO operational budget.

Book Fair

It has became a tradition for the PTO to sponsor a book fair, an event anticipated by students and parents alike that celebrates literacy and the love of learning. While partnering with a book vendor, not only do we receive 25% of all book sales to be put towards efforts of the PTO, we can connect children with literature and opportunities to grow and flourish.

PTO Dues

In addition to bringing programs and extra-curricular activities to our children, the PTO Dues also go directly toward the assembly, publication and distribution of Kaleidoscope and the School Directory. As a convenience for parents and faculty, the PTO pays for the management and content of the MySchoolAnywhere and MySchoolBucks apps and websites.  Kaleidoscope is a collection of original stories, poems and artwork composed by Middlefork students. It is printed and distributed to District 29 families every June.  The School Directory is a directory of parent contact information, and includes information about our schools and District resources. The Directory can be downloaded from the school website, accessed via MySchoolAnywhere, or can be purchased in printed format.

School Kits

The PTO works with SchoolKidz, a Staples Company, to pre-order all school supply lists for students in the district. By offering this service to parents, the district creates ease of preparing for a new school year. With the purchase of each kit, 10% of the sale goes back to the PTO.   Kits are delivered to the classroom by PTO volunteers before the first day of school.
